On February 9, 2025, members of the World Mission Society Church of God in Lubbock gathered on 43rd Street for a neighborhood cleanup service aimed at revitalizing an area often overlooked due to a shortage of community workers. The initiative was part of an ongoing effort to support local neighborhoods and promote environmental stewardship through volunteer action. Despite the cold winter morning, 20 dedicated volunteers joined together to clear litter, sweep sidewalks, and restore beauty to the area. By the end of the event, they had collected a total of 21 bags of trash — a visible sign of their collective effort to improve the community.
During the cleanup, one of the city’s district managers visited the site and expressed heartfelt appreciation to the volunteers for their hard work and commitment. She praised their contribution to beautifying Lubbock and acknowledged the importance of citizen involvement in maintaining clean and safe neighborhoods. Through simple acts of service like this, the Church of God continues to demonstrate the love and unity that strengthen communities, reminding everyone that when people work together, even small efforts can make a lasting difference.
