The Bible Testifies about Christ's Coming
According to Jesus Christ, the bible teaches us how to recognize God.
“‘These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.’”
John 5:39-40
By “the Scriptures,” Jesus meant the Old Testament, since it was the only part of the Bible that existed 2,000 years ago. Using the Old Testament, Jesus showed His disciples He was the Messiah the prophets wrote about hundreds and thousands of years before He came to Earth (Lk 24:13–27).
“Then starting with what Moses and all the prophets had said about him, Jesus began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures.”

Just as Jesus used the Scriptures, the apostles followed in His footsteps and also used the Old Testament to teach others about the Savior (Ac 17:2–3, Ac 8:35) and how to properly recognize God.
“Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. ‘This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah,’ he said.”

Even though the Bible clearly describes the testimonies about Jesus, there were still many people who did not believe in Him. And the Bible itself reveals two reasons for this: They did not believe the Bible (Jn 5:45–47) nor did they know God (Jn 15:20–21).
Nowadays, the Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament. And just as the Old Testament testified about First Coming Christ, both the Old and New testaments testify about Second Coming Christ. To not make this same mistake, we must focus on what’s written in the Bible concerning Second Coming Christ so we can recognize how, when and where He will come again.
